About Us

Club History

The club was founded in 1927 by old boys of the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, and entered into the Old Boys League. Six years later the club had their first success in the 1932/33 season, winning the Senior Second Division.

In 1948, the Old Boys League merged with the Secondary Schools Old Boys League to form the Old Boys Football League. The competition grew to encompass up to 400 teams at its peak and the structure of the league competition was carried through into the AFC. During this time the club expanded in size, having four teams by the turn of the millennium and six at it's peak.

In 2002, the club joined the Amateur Football Combination, which was formed through a merger of the Old Boys Football League and the Southern Olympian League. The two leagues had operated over the same geographical area for over half a century and several clubs had participated in both. The decision to merge was based on the desire to rationalise by having one competition instead of two, and to improve the standard of play at the top end of the league.

The club has been fairly successful in the new league structure, winning five league titles since it's inception, including two in its first season. Further history was made in 2019, when the 2nd XI won the London Old Boys Olympian Cup, becoming the first OGs team to win a cup since its foundation.

Home Ground

We play our home games at Stoke Park, Guildford.

Apparently the Canadian army was based at Stoke Park for some of World War II, and when they left they were going to have the park levelled as a leaving gift, but for some reason that never happened. As a result we've had to put some of our pitches on the side of a hill, but those pitches are rarely used.

The Club Today

We currently have three teams that play on Saturday afternoons across Surrey, South London and the home counties, from September through to May.
